🚗 Exciting Parking Changes for Downtown Bloomsburg! 🚗

The Bloomsburg Town Council recently approved several new parking initiatives aimed at improving access for part-time employees and making parking more convenient for all residents and visitors. See below for the details!

🅿️ Hoppes Lot Free Parking for Part-Time Employees

  • Starting October 15th – December 31st, 2024:
    • Unsold permits will convert to J-PT permits on a trial basis.
    • 4 spaces will remain for Zone J permit holders only.
    • The rest of the spots will be open for J-PT permits, with Council allowing for permit overselling to accommodate part-timers on varying shifts.  All permits are issued through the Bloomsburg Parking Office located at 301 E. 2nd Street.
  • January 1st – June 30th, 2025:
    • The entire Hoppes Lot will transition to J-PT permits on a trial basis.
    • A final decision for long-term changes will be made in May 2025 to inform the permit sale period for July-December 2025.

🅿️ West Main Street Meter Removal & Free Parking

  • Starting October 18th – December 31st, 2024:
    • 25 parking meters on West Main Street (from Jefferson to West Street) will be removed and relocated to new spots (details below).
    • These 25 spaces will be free to park during the trial period.
    • Reminder: Parking enforcement will still apply 2 a.m. – 5 a.m.

🛠️ Meter Relocations

  • 7 meters will move to Center Street (from Pine Ave. to Main St.)
  • 3 meters will move to Iron Street (from Pine Ave. to Main St.)
  • 11 meters will move to N. Market Street (from the Square to Ridge Ave.)
  • 4 spare meters will be kept for maintenance purposes.
