Under the direct supervision of the Director of Public Works, the Pool Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Town swimming pool. This position supervises pool attendants and lifeguards, ensures a safe and enjoyable environment for patrons, coordinates staff scheduling and training, enforces pool rules and regulations, and assists with the overall management and maintenance of the facility throughout the swimming season.

Lifeguard Rules and Expectations
The Town of Bloomsburg expects lifeguards to maintain professionalism, prioritize safety, and adhere to the following guidelines:
- Professional Conduct: Always maintain a professional demeanor; patrons observe your actions both on duty and during breaks.
- Proper Attire: Wear the designated swimsuit every shift.
- Punctuality: Arrive on time for every scheduled shift.
- Preparedness: Always wear the rescue tube strap while on duty.
- Focus: Stay alert and avoid distractions, including unnecessary conversations with other guards.
- Enforce Pool Rules: Know and enforce pool rules consistently. Warn rule violators with a whistle and address issues promptly.
- Escalation of Issues: Report persistent patron issues to the Pool Coordinator or acting guard for resolution.
- Consistency: Apply rules uniformly to all swimmers.
- Surveillance: Regularly count swimmers to ensure safety.
- Behavior: Refrain from inappropriate actions, like hitting others with toys or noodles.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Accurately complete timesheets, rounding to the nearest 15 minutes.
- When not actively guarding, assist with cleaning or other tasks.
- Follow instructions from the Coordinator/ Head guard filling in
- Occupy high stand chairs unless directed otherwise.
- Prioritize pool safety above all.
Operational Duties:
- Only the Coordinator handles chemicals
- Ensure all opening and closing duties are completed, with signing off on tasks.
