Stormwater Upgrades Coming to 9th Street!
The Town of Bloomsburg will be applying for the PA Small Waters Grant to support critical stormwater infrastructure upgrades along 9th Street. These improvements are essential to meet state-mandated MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System) requirements that help protect our waterways and reduce pollution.
A big thank you to LIVIC Civil for their technical support in guiding us through this important project. Here’s what’s planned:
Hydrodynamic Structure 1 – Designed to treat stormwater runoff from a 160-acre area (including nearly 105 acres of impervious surfaces), this inlet will provide significant sediment capture and treatment.
Hydrodynamic Structure 2 – Installed directly downstream of Structure 1, this inlet will treat runoff from an additional 20-acre area and further reduce sediment loading.
Hydrodynamic Structure 3 – The final structure in the series, placed downstream of the first two, will continue the treatment process for enhanced water quality in the sub-basin.
These upgrades are a key part of our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship and compliance with state regulations.
