Exciting news from the Town of Bloomsburg Municipal Airport (N13)! On 9/9/2024, we received our brand new 12,000-gallon fuel tank, weighing in at an impressive 41,000 lbs.—without even a drop of fuel! If you noticed the crane and oversized load making its way through town, this was the destination!
As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.” We appreciate your patience and support as this project unfolds. This new tank will not only enhance our airport’s efficiency but also secure a bulk fuel discount of around $0.30 per gallon, increasing fuel revenue from $0.60 to $0.75 per gallon.
A huge thank you to Delta Airport Consultants, Inc. for their dedication of engineering this project, and to the funding partners: 75% state (Bureau of Aviation) and 25% local grant, with the local portion supported by CDBG-CV funds and a generous $12,000 from Phillips 66 Gas. Kudos to Charles W. Grimm Construction Inc. for their successful bid of $713,769.03.
Most importantly, this tank will enable our full-time employee to avoid those late-night calls for fueling planes by hand. It will now serve as a 24/7 self-serve fuel farm, making operations smoother and more efficient for everyone.
