Bloomsburg Town Council held an emergency meeting on 4/25 from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Council voted to split sidewalk repair costs with Debra Shade and Jack Devine in the amount of $3,465 (total amount: $6,930). It was discussed that due to the construction site being on a busy intersection, that work should be completed Friday, rather than wait until over the weekend. It was discussed that the area could be a danger to someone. Robert C. Young is a subcontractor of Kuharchik who was awarded the work at Market and 5th Streets in Bloomsburg. The enhancement project will assist a safer intersection by the elementary school and allow for a pedestrian lead time to cross the street.
Kuharchik will also be performing work at Rt. 11 and Park Street. The intersection will create a pedestrian walkway. Also, Kuharchik will be working on the overall retiming of the traffic signals in Bloomsburg.
