🚗 Exciting Parking Changes for Downtown Bloomsburg! 🚗
The Bloomsburg Town Council recently approved several new parking initiatives aimed at improving access for part-time employees and making parking more convenient for all residents and visitors. See below for the details!
🅿️ Hoppes Lot Free Parking for Part-Time Employees
- Starting October 15th – December 31st, 2024:
- Unsold permits will convert to J-PT permits on a trial basis.
- 4 spaces will remain for Zone J permit holders only.
- The rest of the spots will be open for J-PT permits, with Council allowing for permit overselling to accommodate part-timers on varying shifts. All permits are issued through the Bloomsburg Parking Office located at 301 E. 2nd Street.
- January 1st – June 30th, 2025:
- The entire Hoppes Lot will transition to J-PT permits on a trial basis.
- A final decision for long-term changes will be made in May 2025 to inform the permit sale period for July-December 2025.
🅿️ West Main Street Meter Removal & Free Parking
- Starting October 18th – December 31st, 2024:
- 25 parking meters on West Main Street (from Jefferson to West Street) will be removed and relocated to new spots (details below).
- These 25 spaces will be free to park during the trial period.
- Reminder: Parking enforcement will still apply 2 a.m. – 5 a.m.
🛠️ Meter Relocations
- 7 meters will move to Center Street (from Pine Ave. to Main St.)
- 3 meters will move to Iron Street (from Pine Ave. to Main St.)
- 11 meters will move to N. Market Street (from the Square to Ridge Ave.)
- 4 spare meters will be kept for maintenance purposes.
📱 Zone I: Mobile-Only Parking (Effective January 1, 2025)
- Parking in Zone I (North End along the alley) will switch from permit-based parking to mobile-only parking.
