The Town of Bloomsburg was selected as a PA Environmental Justice Forest Grant recipient through Tree Pennsylvania!
This year, our Public Works crew has been hard at work — planting 50 trees in the spring and preparing for 81 additional planting locations this fall. By the end of 2025, a total of 142 new shade trees will have been planted throughout Town — all made possible through grant funding and 10 additional trees from the Shade Tree Commission’s annual budget. Plus, an additional tree will be planted on E. 2nd Street during our Tree Tender Workshop, also funded through the grant.
These trees not only enhance the beauty of our community but also provide shade for pedestrians, help keep homes cooler in the summer, and contribute to a healthier environment for all.
