Dear Residents,
As the 2022 UGI Capital Improvement project to replace gas lines in your area continues, the Town of Bloomsburg would like to take this opportunity to alert residents that a temporary pavement structure will be placed until a final pavement restoration can be completed. If you do not currently have a gas service line to your home and are considering having one installed, you should contact UGI and request that service be installed before final pavement is
The town ordinance states if an excavation is made in a roadway that is less than five years old, the applicant shall be financially responsible for the restoration of the road from the center line to the edge of pavement for the entire length of the road that was disturbed (§ 21-110). This means, if after final paving is complete and you decide to add gas service to your home within five years of the UGI Capital Improvement project completion, you are financially responsible for restoring the road to its previous condition. This can cost upwards of $9,000. If you are considering adding gas service to your home, please contact UGI to avoid paying for these costs.
Sincerely,
Justin C. Hummel,
Town of Bloomsburg Mayor
