STREATER FIELD

The Town of Bloomsburg was awarded a $15,000 grant from the Alcoa Foundation through the Kawneer Company.
The grant funding has been used to construct two (2) U-8 soccer fields which can be also be used as one (1) U-10 field
just by changing the orientation of the goals.  The fields are located off Fort McClure Boulevard and will become part of
the athletic field complex.

Bloomsburg Public Works employees assisted with the grading, spreading of top soil and grass seeding.   They also assembled the two (2) sets of goals.

Through Council Member Diane Levan, the Town was fortunate to enlist the help of 14 student volunteers from PA Treatment
and Healing (PATH) and the staff of our local Home Depot to construct benches to be used at the soccer fields.

The Town will be dedicating the site and honoring Alcoa through Kawneer for their contribution to the new recreational area to be known
as Streater Field before the end of July 2011.

Watch for future development of the area.  The Town has already received $15,000 from the Bloomsburg American Legion towards
the construction of another field.
